A simple four-ingredient mix that drains fast, holds enough moisture, and suits nearly every plant and seedling we sell.
The recipe
Four parts coco coir, two parts perlite or pumice, two parts screened compost, one part coarse bark. Add a light handful of slow-release fertilizer per bucket for established plants, and leave it out for seed-starting.
Why it works
Coir holds water without collapsing, perlite keeps air pockets open, compost feeds soil life, and bark keeps the structure from compacting over the months a plant sits in the same pot.
